Keith I Myers

Hello — I'm

Keith I Myers

Senior Software Engineer by day, tech advocate by night.

I have been taking things apart since I was a kid — these days they are just larger and more expensive. Linux, Android, open source, 3D printing, and an unreasonable enthusiasm for tacos.

A little about me

Ever since I can remember I have been a lover of technology. As a kid I was always found taking my toys apart, only to put them back together later (mostly) — the only thing that has really changed is that the toys are now much larger and more expensive. I work as a Senior Level Software Engineer during the day and a tech advocate at night.

Open source and Linux

I am an open source software junkie, and I spend most of my time using and tinkering with several Linux distributions. I am an active member of — and run — the Florida Ubuntu LoCo group, and I am active in the South Florida Ubuntu User Group and the Florida Glass Explorer Groups.

Android and everything Google

My love of Android began when I bought my first Android phone, an HTC EVO 4G on Sprint, and discovered it could be reshaped with custom ROMs, launchers and tweaks. I have been a fan of nearly everything Google-adjacent ever since — Android, Chrome, Google Glass and whatever comes next.

Making things

I am very active with several Florida hackerspaces, makerspaces and innovation centers, and I spend a good deal of time in front of a 3D printer. I am also an enthusiastic and unapologetic consumer of tacos.

Web hosting

I have done extensive work in the web hosting industry with several reputable brands, in roles ranging from technical consultant to senior management.

What I am carrying right now
