Thank You and Announcing Giveaways

K

This website has seen an explosive amount of growth over the past year. There was a time that this website got between 10-15 unique daily visits but over the past year, that number has grown to between 150 and 300 unique daily visits and there are often days where the daily visits are in the thousands. I have been featured on several large websites including XDA-Developers, AndroidPolice, AboutChromebooks, BetaNews, Liliputing and countless Reddit/Social Media Posts.

Tips For Surviving Jury Duty In Miami-Dade County

K

I can honestly say that I don’t know anyone who actually gets excited with they receive a Jury Duty Summons in the mail and if there is a person like that, I can say that I am not one of them. Serving in a Jury may not be the most exciting event and may even post a bit of an inconvenience for you but it is a civic duty that all American Citizens should feel honored to take part in as it is the cornerstone of our justice system. This blog post is going to give some tips that I learned while serving my Jury Duty term this week. These tips are mainly for residents of Miami-Dade County so you should check with your county to see if the policies and rules vary.

A New Look for KMyers.me

K

This website has had the same look and feel for a few years but I have been wanting to give it fresh coat of paint for a while. I really did enjoy the old layout of the website however several of the template files have been broken for a while after a WordPress update (such as the responsive menu on mobile devices) which was the main reason for the change. This new template should also load faster on slower internet connections.

Tips for Preparing for Hurricanes

K

I have lived in South Florida for almost 15 years and have seen my fair share of hurricanes. With the devastation that happened in Texas last week from hurricane Harvey and the imminent threat from Hurricane Irma, I wanted to do a write up on the steps I personally take to prepare for Hurricanes. I perform all of these steps prior to boarding up my windows.

When I was young….

K

Before I begin this post, let me preface it with the fact that I am not really that old. A lot has changed in the past 20 years, here is a list of a few of my favorites.

RANT : HD Video Tax

K

I can often be called an early adopter of new technology and was thrilled to give up my DVDs and VHS tapes for the simplicity of purchasing my content on streaming media services such as Google Play Movies or (Affiliate Link)Amazon Instant Video. You simply cannot beat the selection offered by these services and you don’t ever need run into issues with the movie being sold out or scratched DVDs. Unlike services such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Videos and Google Play Movies allows you to take content offline for use in situations where you do not have access to a high speed connection. It is almost a Utopian solution except for one glaring problem… the Upcharge for HD content.

Social First Phones – A History of Failure

K

Mobile phones of all sorts come and go all the time however there is a specific breed of mobile phones that are just around long enough to allow us to laugh at the 10 people that purchase them at full price only to be sold in a fire-sale a week after. These phones are known as “Social First” phones as they are built to prioritize social networking above other basic smartphone functions. These phones rarely last more then a few weeks on the market before rapidly being discontinued and forgotten about.
