Keith I Myers – 2017-06-19 14:21:16-0400+Chris Foote Not sure. I have not noticed it beforeKeith I Myers – 2017-06-19 14:31:50-0400Update – It is live on APK Mirror – https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/myglass/myglass-3-5-8-release/myglass-3-5-8-android-apk-download/Court Mejias – 2017-06-19 14:36:06-0400Awoken from the deadEddie Daniels – 2017-06-19 14:38:53-0400Wow! Wonder if this is also on iOS? Could be to keep Apple stopping the myglass app on the next iOS update?Court Mejias – 2017-06-19 14:58:17-0400No update on iOS yetKeith I Myers – 2017-06-19 14:59:06-0400+Paul Friend – There does not seem to be an iOS update

Looking at the new notifications sync, it could be that calendar events will once again work?Keith I Myers – 2017-06-19 15:07:03-0400+Paul Friend – Not sure if it is in the UK one yet. The APK files are linked abovePaul – 2017-06-19 15:08:19-0400I’ve got the apk from the above link, +Keith I Myers. Will wait and see what the description and what’s new has to say when it hits UK playstore.Keith I Myers – 2017-06-19 15:10:18-0400+Paul Friend In normal Google Fashion, the Change-log is “Bug Fixes” – Thats about all we have ever gotten from updates. The Google Glass team used to report the new features on Google Plus. Paul – 2017-06-19 15:11:18-0400Those were the days, +Keith I Myers. #AccesssesLongTermMemoryBanksEddie Daniels – 2017-06-19 15:13:25-0400It’s so exciting to be talking about glass again! Keith I Myers – 2017-06-19 15:15:34-0400+Eddie Daniels – Yup. I just hope it was not just a false alarm.
Robert Hamilton – 2017-06-19 16:03:27-0400 – Updated: 2017-06-19 16:08:38-0400Android phone play store now and I’m seeing v3.5.0 last updated Nov 19 2014… wonder what’s up?Robert Hamilton – 2017-06-19 16:08:17-0400 – Updated: 2017-06-19 16:09:04-0400Ok.. now the web link in Chrome on a PC to the play store shows v3.5.0 but a date of June 19 2017 instead of 2014. Something’s up…Matt Coddington – 2017-06-19 16:18:38-0400Hmnm, wonder what’s up with that?! Something quietly brewing?Corey Miecielica – 2017-06-19 19:53:47-0400Yep.. noticed the update earlier. Pleasant surprise 😊Master Decker – 2017-06-20 02:29:27-0400So, this is the “soon” that they spoke of a couple years ago. 😁Philemon Vanderbeck – 2017-06-20 08:23:31-0400Maybe Google is going to allow Glass to try out Lens?Eddie Daniels – 2017-06-20 08:48:23-0400+Philemon Vanderbeck that would be awesomePaul – 2017-06-20 09:34:05-0400+Chris Foote all those notification sync options and none work, well, not for me.
Just standard SMS and phone.
Gone back to the old version.Matt Coddington – 2017-06-20 10:55:02-0400Yeah, I have tried a couple things after enabling notifications – restarting Glass, restarting my phone – and the only notifications that are showing are SMS. I’ve had numerous notifications show up on the phone and Wear, and they have yet to show up on Glass.
Perhaps they still need to roll out the service to everyone? I did install this APK update from APK Mirror, after all…Matt Coddington – 2017-06-20 11:06:35-0400 – Updated: 2017-06-20 11:38:21-0400Just went back into the Notification settings in the MyGlass app, and many of the items that I de-selected were selected again. Tells me that the selected state was not saved on the server side of things (guessing).
Also, an interesting oddity: after factory-resetting my Glass last night, there are misc items in my timeline, beyond the most recent SMS messages, which are from 4 years ago!Paul – 2017-06-20 11:08:40-0400I found that too, +Matt Coddington.Shauna Mork – 2017-06-21 20:49:35-0400I forget how to make it force update can someone let me know. <3Corey Miecielica – 2017-06-21 21:28:19-0400+Shauna Mork plug it in 😄Shauna Mork – 2017-06-21 21:29:19-0400+Corey Miecielica haha very funny Corey Miecielica – 2017-06-21 21:30:25-0400+Shauna Mork I’m being serious. It won’t update without being plugged in. Plug it in, as long as your Glass is charged, the update will initiate. Eddie Daniels – 2017-06-21 21:30:51-0400I plugged mine in after 11 months and forgot how awesome this thing is, not to mention all of the friendships I made with my fellow explorers. Maybe it’s a ploy to get me wearing again, it may just work.Paul – 2017-06-21 21:31:17-0400And make sure glass is connected to WiFi… When you plug it in.Marquis Mathis – 2017-06-21 22:35:30-0400 – Updated: 2017-06-21 22:35:52-0400What do you do when your glass wifi won’t turn on anymore Master Decker – 2017-06-22 02:42:33-0400+Eddie Daniels well, we’re all coming out of the woodwork. It’s making me very happy. Just to see positive posts about Glass once again.Robert Hamilton – 2017-06-22 10:22:11-0400+Marquis Mathis I feel your pain. My Glass powers up but it’s charger port is almost toast (needs a clamp to charge), it’s wearing a pirate patch because it foiled and the Mic is dead.Eddie Daniels – 2017-06-22 10:58:44-0400This must be an elaborate test to get us all wearing again! Maybe to get us excited for a new thing to drop so we all just throw our money at it!Chris Foote – 2017-06-24 13:05:41-0400I still haven’t gotten the XE 23 update, even after a Factory Reset. Anyone else?Philemon Vanderbeck – 2017-06-24 14:06:27-0400After the update, my Glass no longer has GPS access (but still has location access). Is anyone else having this problem (or know how to possibly fix it)?Paul – 2017-06-24 14:08:49-0400iPhone, or android?
If android have you updated the myglass app as well as the XE?
If android and yes to app and XE update then rollback the myglass app to the 2014 version, +Philemon Vanderbeck.Philemon Vanderbeck – 2017-06-24 14:41:36-0400+Paul Friend Thank you. I rolled back to MyGlass 3.5.0 and that seems to have fixed the problem. I guess I will wait for the next update of MyGlass to see if they fix the GPS problem.Paul – 2017-06-24 14:44:51-0400Haha. The update to the myglass app leaves android users in the situation iPhone users have been in for ages.
Crap or zero notifications and no GPS.
Glad you’re back up and running, +Philemon Vanderbeck.Philemon Vanderbeck – 2017-06-24 15:46:49-0400Now if there only was a way to replace the rechargeable battery in Glass. After three years of semi-regular use, my Glass no longer holds a decent charge for long. Sure, I tend to use an external battery anyways, but it would be nice to be able to use Glass normally without it for a few hours.Paul – 2017-06-24 15:50:20-0400There is a teardown that +Steven Mautone was the last to post if you are brave enough to try it?
I think +Jason Lukaszewski may have had some success? Philemon Vanderbeck – 2017-06-24 16:19:20-0400The only teardown I found so far pretty much destroyed the Glass. 🙁Paul – 2017-06-24 16:41:03-0400 – Google Glass Teardown/
“To keep the unit’s weight distributed more evenly, Glass keeps its battery in a rounded bit behind the wearer’s ear. We stripped this area open, again applying destructive force to tear the plastic.
“The single-cell Lithium Polymer battery sits at the end of the flexprint PCB and is marked as having a capacity of 2.1 Wh (roughly 570 mAh). It is not user-replaceable, not even a little bit.”Chris Foote – 2017-06-30 22:45:35-0400And STILL no XE23… Have you gotten it, +Keith I Myers?Keith I Myers – 2017-07-01 00:05:53-0400Yes +Chris Foote. Got it almost instantlyChris Foote – 2017-07-01 00:07:13-0400+Keith I Myers Damn, any ideas? Is there somewhere I can grab it from to install through ADB or anything?Keith I Myers – 2017-07-01 00:11:49-0400+Chris Foote – Of course you can. Just grab the latest factory image.
Download it, extract the zip and edit the batch file to remove the “-w” under fastboot before running the batch file if you dont want to wipe your glass.
