20160913 Just Need To Vent For A Moment About +T

T-Mobile introduced a new concept with #Uncarrier9 known as the #Un-Contract in which John Legere stated that current customers are not subject to price hikes for at least 2 years (or longer on non-unlimited plans). Per John Legere’s Press Release “We’re not playing that game. The Un-contract is our promise to individuals, families and businesses of all sizes, that − while your price may go down − it won’t go up.”

I took advantage of a promotion where T-Mobile would match the amount of data on your Primary like for devices like Tablets/Hotspots for $10.00 (up to 5 GB each). I ended up getting 2 lines under this special – one for a hotspot (mainly emergency use) and one for my Nvidia Shield Tablet. (Total of $20.00 per month for both).

Today, I log into my T-Mobile account and noticed that my rate has gone up by $20.00 per month. It looks like T-Mobile migrated my 2 mobile internet plans to a new (Discounted) Simple Choice plan at $20.00 per month (each) vs the $10.00 (each) I was on before. Furthermore this new plan is slightly different from the other Simple Choice North America Plans – It does not have Data Stash. I would have overlooked the rate hike if the new plan included data stash but sadly it does not.

Here is the thing – I honestly do not care about the extra $20.00 per month that I will now be subject to. I honestly do not use these devices too often, the hotspot is mainly for emergency use and I have not used my Shield LTE tablet too much in the past few weeks. My problems are as follows:
1) There was no notice of this change, I just happened to log into my T-Mobile account to check something and noticed the change.
2) What happened to the #UnContract ?Just need to vent for a moment about +T-Mobile. Let me be clear that I am overall very happy with their services and that I have no intentions of leaving over $20 but I just need to vent a bit.

I’m really glad you reached out so I could give you the good news that, as long as you keep one voice line active, you will receive a $10 monthly discount on each of those mobile internet lines. What does that mean to you? The price will remain $10 a month and will always stay at 5GB, rather than change with the data plans on the voice lines on the account. Great news, right? 🙂 Let us know if you have additional questions we can answer. Thank you! -AlissaKeith I Myers – 2016-09-13 18:06:17-0400Hello +T-Mobile (Alissa) – Thank you for your response. Is there a place on the website where I can see that?T-Mobile – 2016-09-13 18:24:04-0400Hi +Keith I Myers Great question! Because this is a grandfathered offer, not available on T-Mobile ONE, it’s not listed on the T-Mobile website. Not to worry, this is, and will continue to be available to you, as long as you have an active voice line. If in the future, you switch to the T-Mobile ONE plan, this $10 monthly discount will cease. -AlissaKeith I Myers – 2016-09-13 18:26:52-0400Thanks
