If they are possibly fibbing about the USB 3.1 speed, they may also be doing other fishy things.

I do not personally like white cables as they tend to pick up strange colors from dirt and even yellow from UV Light (try to find a clean first party Apple charger that is 3 months old). I personally prefer black cables but I am looking to pick up a few extra Type C cables to keep in my backpack due to the fact that I now own 3 devices that use Type C connectors (Nexus 6P, Pixel C and a RAWPower USB Battery Pack)
