Keith I Myers – 2015-12-15 17:37:58-0500 – Updated: 2015-12-15 17:37:58-0500Sweet the latest #DisplayLink USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station now works with Ubuntu 15.10 (Technically 14.04 +). There is a performance trade-off so those with weaker processors could see some issues. In my case, I am running a Quad Core Intel i7 with 16 GB of RAM on my laptop. (Its a +System76 Kudu Pro).
The Docking Station I am using is : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECDM78E/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00ECDM78E&linkCode=as2&tag=bluemobilecom-20&linkId=BPAGO5R5ZLLE5TOM
The Ubuntu Drivers can be found at : http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu.php (You will get a “warning” if you are running any Kernels above 3.16 but it will still install and should work).
This should also work on all Ubuntu variants such as Kubuntu, Mint, etc. Shared with: Public, System76, Philip SiederPhilip Sieder – 2015-12-15 17:58:17-0500You should not use this machine #PixelC for two weeks…Keith I Myers – 2015-12-15 18:04:20-0500+Philip Sieder – Nope, still using the PixelC for all work, just wanted to test this out as it was a huge impediment a few months ago
