Keith I Myers – 2015-10-31 22:01:13-0400 – Updated: 2015-10-31 22:01:13-0400My desk has been cleaned off of all high end computers and I already have the first “Unorthodox” computer setup and ready to go. I am just typing up the first blog post now.
The challenge starts in 2 hours.
I will be starting the challenge with the $140.00 Vensmile Mini PC which is the most orthodox machines in my Unorthodox computer challenge lineup. This is technically designed to be a desktop computer but has several problems. This will be like using a 2012 era netbook as a developer grade workstation. (Affiliate Link)

+Master Decker – That has been disposed of properlyGeorge Byers – 2015-11-01 00:19:46-0400+Keith I Myers yeah that’s why I think you’ll struggle, especially if you use Chrome… That thing is a memory whore these days. Keith I Myers – 2015-11-01 00:23:39-0400+George Byers – I spent the past hour writing the blog post to kick off the test in chrome. It was not as smooth as I wished. I may be hunting for a more lightweight browser in the next few daysDoug Truex – 2015-11-01 07:18:38-0500+Keith I Myers Install Manjaro LXDE or Chalet Linux 32 – bit on that and it will be much faster. I have an i3 running Linux and it is my NAS, Plex media server, and LAN backup manager.Keith I Myers – 2015-11-01 09:41:52-0500+Doug Truex – I would but I want to keep this device as stock as possible for this test. I fully intend to stick Debian on this at a later date.
