While Sprint’s plan does bake in the cost of the lease (around $20 per month), it does leave out a few “freebies” that T-Mobile includes such as “Tethering/Hotspot use”. T-Mobile includes 7 GB with their $80.00 plan per month of High Speed Tethering while Sprint requires an additional fee. For a mere 1 GB of Tethering, Sprint charges an additional $10.00 per month and you will need to cough up $50.00 extra to get 6 GB of Data.
If you want to match most features of T-Mobile, you will be paying $130 per month + Tax with Sprint. With T-Mobile, you will be paying $110 +Tax (includes the lease for the phone). A savings of $20.00 per month.
I understand that not everyone has the need/want to tether however emergencies happen. A small amount of tethering is almost essential when you travel. As someone who does a lot of work at Home, ISP issues can cause me to loose revenue. When my ISP goes down, I just need to hit a button on my phone and I am back online in seconds. I only use ~1 GB of Tethering a month

I’m wondering of staying with Cricket but get the $50/5GBs.Keith I Myers – 2015-07-16 15:32:37-0400+Shisheen Yehudit Harper It is not less expensive when you match the tethering features.
