I have some points to add:

1) Casting a tab from a ChromeOS device (at least with my Chromebook) does not work.  It can see the device, but won’t let me actually cast the tab.  I assume that sites/webapps that support this feature directly (i.e. – Netflix) work as expected.

2) Though the scrollable list a apps in the Google Play store is very limited, you can still search directly for an app.  If it’s compatible, it will let you install it.  That being said, the app’s UX might not be up to snuff, as it might not necessarily fully support the “leanback” experience.Keith I Myers – 2015-03-02 12:59:39-0500+Joseph Cappellino – I have not tried with my Chromebook but it did work perfectly from both a Windows and Linux laptop running Chrome.

As far as the apps, you can also access the web based version of the Google Play store and trigger the installs from there which has a MUCH better selection. I will update it a bit. I finished writing this at midnight last night.
