Needless to say that I am completely disappointed as it does little more then opens your browser and runs a search on Bing. Although Google Now technically works in much of the same ways, it gives me more relevant content..

Cortana seems to be deeply baked into Windows 10 and has even replaced the search bar that is normally part of the start menu.

I do understand that this is a very early release but I fail to see this being a serious competitor to Google Now in the future as it seems to be very clunky. It does share one thing with Apple’s Siri as they both appear to be novelties that users turn off eventually.So... It’s WORTHLESS.Keith I Myers – 2015-01-24 00:00:00-0500+Master Decker – That is a critical feature and I am appalled that this was omitted. Lucas Dummitt – 2015-01-24 02:00:24-0500 – Updated: 2015-01-24 02:02:40-0500Yeah it seems strange so much of it was tied to doing a bing search… Several things I asked i thought she would present directly like Google now does, but she didn’t. I also had a couple of issues where she just gave up trying to figure out what I said, but maybe the loud TV was causing problems. Still, I’m going to give it time. edit: I screwed this up petty bad first time around, must be tired.Kevin Lawson – 2015-01-25 03:04:49-0500+Keith I Myers But what does it do that Google Now can not do?

I think it’s a waste of time using it like Google Now.Lucas Dummitt – 2015-01-25 10:04:49-0500+Kevin Lawson It’s baked into the Windows OS, which means users will get beat over the head with it.  From a “potentially developing for HoloLens” standpoint, it is good to understand.  Not sure that it actually does anything that Google Now cannot.Keith I Myers – 2015-01-25 10:05:57-0500+Kevin Lawson it is supposed to do local file searches and hardware controlsKevin Lawson – 2015-01-25 10:18:52-0500I liked the “open Office file, and show me photos from blah blah blah”

It looks like mix of Siri and Google Now.
