I find his statement “All other smart watches have been flops.” to be very ignorant. The smart watch may have not taken over the world but I wouldn’t call them flops. The Pebble has done fairly well before all the others came to market and I do believe the LG G Watch and the Moto360 have sold fairly well.
He also states that all other smart watches, besides the Apple Watch, are cheap, ugly hunks of plastic slapped on a watch band… Again, ignorance… The Pebble Steel has been available for a while and nothing about it is plastic and it looks great. The Moto360, LG G Watch R and in my opinion the Asus watch look great! Throw a good watch face on it and its hard to tell it’s digital.
I also wonder how they know what the Apple Watch looks and feels like since it’s not even available yet?? Yes I know there are tons of press photos and it was shown at the Apple event but no one, other than maybe top Apple Execs, is wearing one. To physically see it on someone’s wrist versus a press photo can be a very different look. We have all done the “Wow that’s bugger than I thought” and the “Wow that’s smaller than I thought” when you get to see something in person that you had only seen in pictures.
Don’t get me wrong. I do believe that Apple will release a nice piece of hardware, as they usually do, and I’m sure it will be a success. However that doesn’t mean everything else is a flop and that nothing can compare, especially to something that’s not even available….
