I keep going back and forth between the nexus 9 and the Nvidia Shield tablet and he made a few great points for the shield.George Leon – 2014-11-10 13:45:05-0500 – Updated: 2014-11-10 13:46:24-0500+Keith I Myers +Kevin Nether – 100% Agree. I have had nearly every HTC device worth a darn, even some not worth a darn, just because I like/liked HTC. The have always built substantial handsets. The feel solid & I like that. I don’t want a paper light, cheap piece of ultra thin plastic. Love the M8. I ordered the Nexus 9 two days before pre-order via Amazon & something went wrong. It never shipped & it got to the point of being available at BB before mine left Amazon’s warehouse. So, I picked it up & played with it. I then proceeded to take out my M8, open the Amazon app & cancel my N9 order. It feels okay in the hand, but it is not the solid piece of kit that the M8 is. The back flexed & I felt like the shell was squishing in my hands towards the middle of the back as I held it. It lacks good, solid body support. The screen, as you showed, was horrible & you could see naked materials around the screen, which made it look like an unfinished product. You are right, absolutely, it seemed more like a working prototype than a production unit. It doesn’t bother me that Nexus no longer is the value offering it once was. If I like something & it adds value to my life, to my productivity level at work, or to my quality of leisure at play, then I will pay more. I paid full retail for my M8. But when you charge a premium price for something that just seems unfinished, well, no thank you. I thought it would be awesome. I thought there would finally be a premium Nexus product. The M8 of Nexus offerings. No such luck.

I also think it is chicken shit that users that did adopt early get screwed with a one day $199 N9. HTC, Google, you want to do something like that, great. Offer it to the people that spent an hour refreshing to make sure they got a day one device. (BTW, that wasn’t me. Never will be. Amazon all the way. Google sucks at retail & I’d rather deal with Amazon’s stellar customer service).
