20141017 I Know That I Have Been Called An Apple

Keith I MyersKeith I Myers2014-10-17 21:14:57-0400 – Updated: 2014-10-17 21:14:57-0400I know that I have been called an Apple Hater in the past and wanted to explain the main reason why I hate Apple devices. It all comes down to the principle of “Who actually owns your device?”. Allow me to explain.

First, If I own my device, I should be able to purchase any standard MicroUSB cable and use it rather then purchasing $30.00-$40.00 proprietary cables from Apple. I know knockoff lighting cables do exist but should I really need to use them?

I have no problems with Google and Apple policing and disallowing certain applications in their respective Application Catalogs. Android, unlike iOS allows users to obtain Android Applications from other sources such as directly from the developer and install them without the need to Jailbreak your phone/tablet. Hell, with Android, you can even have a choice of Application Stores (Google Play, Amazon, etc).

Lets think of this like a laptop/desktop computer. Would you pay $500-$999 for a laptop that you could not install your choice of applications on? Who really owns this laptop, you or the manufacturer?

Sorry, I am not spending any money for devices that I have to go through additional hoops to actually assume ownership of my new expensive purchase.

Apple bans several applications that compete against their own internal applications. An example of this is the WebBrowser, in which developers are FORCED to use the WebKit Engine. ALL Web Browsers on the Apple store including Chrome and Opera are little more then a re-skinned version of Safari with some added features. FireFox for example uses the Gecko Engine and Chrome’s normal engine on all other platforms is known as “Blink”

Apple further locks down several features of their devices such as NFC for no real reason except keeping it exclusive to ApplePay. In Android’s case, NFC is open and free for every application to use for various purposes. There are also competing mobile wallets such as SoftCard (Formally ISIS). Again, if you indeed own your iPhone, why cant you choose your mobile wallet and use the NFC for things like;
-Exchanging business cards
-Sharing WiFi details
-Home Automation
And a whole lot more

Note : I do not support downloading pirated Android Applications to sideload on your device. There are several applications that Google either does not want to host on the App store (such as penetration testing tools). There are also developers who would rather not distribute their applications in the Google Play Store and use services like the HumbleBundle/Indie Bundle.I know that I have been called an Apple Hater in the past and wanted to explain the main reason why I hate Apple devices. Beautiful case though.  Brian Peters – 2014-10-17 23:27:28-0400+Albert Peña It is pretty good for watching porn.Keith I Myers – 2014-10-17 23:33:16-0400+Albert Peña – The “Walled Garden” / Security argument is actually a bit flawed. Android is equally as secure as iOS and in many ways may be even more secure. Many security flaws take advantage of carrier/manufacturer defects rather then flaws in the core OS. I am not saying that Android is free of exploits but neither is iOS.

“Jailbreaking” an iOS device ALWAYS relies on finding a root level exploit on iOS. Rooting an Android phone however does not always need to be done with a root exploit if you have an unloccked bootloader.

And to tell you the truth, I am not willing to give up my ability to “own” my device for the illusion of more security, LaJuan Hughes – 2014-10-17 23:54:25-0400I agree great points. Frankie Lujan – 2014-10-18 01:44:53-0400+Christopher Whiteside what an insightful comment, so deep and profound.

Well that aside, I agree with you all the way +Keith I Myers. Just like when people buy designer clothing, they are just buying the brand name. It goes the same way with people who buy an apple product. When I took my brother in law to the Apple Store I asked a few people why do they buy apple products, and what they use it for, and most of them answered “because it’s apple”, and most of them are using said products for social media, Internet browsing, and to listen to music. Christopher Whiteside – 2014-10-18 01:49:50-0400Did you like it frankie i was afraid it would to complex for you to grasp 👉👌Brian Newhouse – 2014-10-18 02:42:55-0400 – Updated: 2014-10-18 02:44:58-0400Well said….I agree to the fullest…..I have a friend who has an iphone and they couldn’t even download a media file (sounds clip) I sent them using my android device. The reason being was because the media file (sound clip) wasn’t purchased through the app store and rather sent via a android device. I then attempted to send her a wallpaper file (not sure on the file type, think it was a .jpg), to which once again, she wasn’t able to download. I don’t see paying bukoo $$$ for a device that isn’t able to use download “everyday” files. Seems like the user is treated as a “highly protected/controlled” child. To that effect, that is why I will never own an Apple device. Sure there are loopholes, but why go that route when it is entirely not necessary and risking bricking your phone? I use a stock android, and have all the capabilities I need for my everyday usage and have really no reason to root my device….though I know how to root, I still have no need or desire to.Keith I Myers – 2014-10-18 02:52:04-0400+Albert Peña – but they don’t have “the best” security, the only people who believe that are located in Apple’s Marketing Department. I was an Android user for 5 years until I eventually got sick and tired of having to upgrade my phone every time the new OS came out because the phone I had “didn’t support the new update” or wasn’t going to be included on the list of devices to get the new update. Between that, and the constant crashing of certain apps, the phone shutting itself off or rebooting itself all the time, I couldn’t take it anymore. I’ve had my iPhone for two years and haven’t had a single issue with it. I get all the updates on day one( instead of having to wait sometimes months as was the case with 2 android phones I owned) and I haven’t had to buy a new iPhone just because the new iOS was released – I currently own an iPhone 4s that is running iOS 8 – my current phone has lasted 3 new iOS updates. I do however plan on upgrading to the iPhone 6 come February solely because of the new screen size, that was my one and only complaint of the iPhone is that it didn’t have a larger screen. I’m tired of hearing about why one phone is better than the other. For me personally, I’ve used them both and I think the iPhone is far better than any android phone, that’s MY opinion. Pankaj singh – 2014-10-18 05:07:17-0400Actually an shopkeeper gets Apple micro USB cable in less than 1$ and sell it in around 40$ :p I own a Apple products showroom in India.Carl Draper – 2014-10-18 05:41:43-0400+Brian Williams iPhone 4S gets the latest update yes but it runs like crap and half the new features aren’t available. At least with an Android phone you have the option of third party ROMs. Mark Railton – 2014-10-18 05:41:57-0400+Ryan Martin that’s one handset, I’ve owned several android devices over the years and have the exact same issues with the device not being included in os upgrade cycles, then add in that there is no clear way to keep your device in sync with music and pics on your computer unless you happen to live in one of the few countries that have access to google music, which also does not work for images.

This is an argument that can (and likely will) just keep going round in circles. What really pisses me off about the whole thing tho is that Apple users get called fan boys whilst android users are just android users.Don Felipe – 2014-10-18 06:17:33-0400Typical of G+, one person has axe grind against #Apple, for reasons unknown, they rant on G+ and automatically it becomes “Hot” 🔥. Though another factor for me is the price for spec ratio. I know applefan will say that their 1,4ghz dual core a8 is enough, but for me that just means that i just bought an “enough” spec phone for a premium price. I want a premium device if i bought it at premium price. Not just the looks of premium device. I am the kind of person who is willing to pay for another brand if i think their price:spec ratio is good enough, rather than stick with a brand that only charge premium price for looksRicky Cash – 2014-10-18 06:26:46-0400+Carl Draper Google+ is for photos which can be automatic if you want, I assume it also works with also with the iPhone. Apps used to crash etc. Since then I have switched between Android, iOS and Windows devices. Problem with Android was delay in updates unless you own a Google device. But today most of the Android phones are getting updates within 3 months. In my case Moto X getting faster updates. I never could settle with iPhone. The biggest deal breaking facts were the lock up and the problems I used to face after each major updates. Currently I use an iPad 4 and the Mac book pro. Since iOS 7 iPad is almost useless and iOS 8 made it worst. Most of the apps I use are crashing now. My wife wants me to me to revert her iPad back to iOS 7 but obviously there is no way. Yesterday I updated my Mac book to 10.10. Its too early to comment and hope everything will be okay.Pablo Arista – 2014-10-18 08:09:42-0400 – Updated: 2014-10-18 08:17:23-0400+Brian Williams as an fyi, iPhone 4 devices (not 4s) don’t get the update for ios 8 (not that they’re missing much with an os that’s buggier than windows Vista). So not all devices get the update. If you were to stick with your 4s, you wouldn’t get ios 9 and iPad 2 users will also not get ios 9. You have a horrible argument. Also your version of ios 8 is limited big time (besides running super slow since the hardware is ancient).

I have owned an iPhone 5 and an iPad 4 and while I’ll admit that the battery is amazing, you either don’t use your device to the fullest or you’re just lying. iOS crashes like any other os. I’ve had my rants with developers delivering crap sometimes. They try to sway me off with their lingo not realizing that I myself am a developer. The system apps themselves crash too. It’s just the nature of the beast. There is no flawless OS that will not have its hiccups. Initially when I first bought my ios devices and my MacBook I thought that was the case, but me being a computer science student and a systems analyst at work I use my devices to the fullest. ..especially when doing stress tests. My concept of the perfect apple niche went out the window.

I’m of course doing my analysis on ios 5, 6, and ios 7. If you honestly believe that ios 8 is better than the current kitkat, then you truly are a troll. iOS 8 (as I noted earlier) is worst than windows Vista. In fact I don’t think I’ve used a version of windows that was as buggy as ios 8, nor a version of windows that persisted in any major ui flaws for this long.

Your argument about not getting the latest OS version for android is not specific to all android devices. For one you could install it yourself manually without the consent of the manufacturer, and 2 I can use the argument that the first iPhone didn’t have apps to download or an app store and claim that all ios devices follow suit, when we all know that is false. You have to put things into perspective, in order to have a valid argument. I hope if you ever do higher math, that your mathematical proofs are not as bad as the ones you stated here…LEAF2ZERO – 2014-10-18 08:15:35-0400Excellent. My view exactly. You are free to also share my opinion or rebute my claims. If you feel that I am incorrect then please state why.

+Christopher Mylant – I make no claims stating that I am not an Android Fanboy. Can you state my incorrect statement so I may do some further research since you made this accusation? I am not above making mistakes and I am also someone who has no problems admitting that I made them and correcting them.

Also, if you want a list of cherry picked statements and half ture statements about Android, turn no further than your annual WWDC meetings or any Apple announcement.

+Vishok G – As stated above, these are simply my opinions on why I will not buy these products. I am not leading a charge to get them pulled off the store shelves based on my opinions so chill. I spent about 30 minutes writing this post to give intelligent insight into why I feel like this only for you to attack me with one line statements calling me an idiot. If you feel like I am wrong, please tell me why or share your own opinion. No beef here =) Brandon Chamberlain – 2014-10-18 09:52:55-0400+Keith I Myers While I completely agree with this argument, it is worthwhile to note on this comment: “Apple further locks down several features of their devices such as NFC for no real reason except keeping it exclusive to ApplePay.”

There is a reason: it is an actual limitation of iOS. iOS as an operating system does not allow for installed software to access the hardware directly. Hence why NFC cannot be accessed by any application this is NOT part of the OS. Also why you will never find WiFi analyzer (or anything of the sort) available for iOS. Understandably, this is for stability, the less you have accessing hardware, the more likely your system is to remain stable, but it is a limitation (intentional or not) either way. Don Dudas – 2014-10-18 10:06:59-0400+Albert Peña the problem was, until the iCloud breach, Apple did not support 2-factor authentication. They also did not limit the amount of login attempts. That’s why they were able to be breached by a brute force attack. This is a common practice, even on laptops and desktops as it makes little sense for applications to be aware of every piece of hardware.

The common practice among operating systems, Android included, is to abstract much of the hardware and expose a series of APIs. Developers really should only interact directly with the hardware if they are building new hardware for the device, which does not happen too often.

Apple maintains a restricted set of APIs that if any application attempts to use (except for Apple applications), they will not permit the application into the App Store, which is the sole software distribution system for iOS without jailbreaking it. Hell, Apple even forbids calling shared libraries. Keith I Myers – 2014-10-18 10:50:34-0400+Raphael lumpkin – Weather or not Apple got hacked is still up for debate. The celebrity nude photo leaks may have also been an inside job at Apple or the celebrity using weak passwords. I see reports all the time of the iCloud Remote Lock being used to hold a persons phone ransom but no clear evidence has been shown to pin down the exact method of entry, was it a case of a vulnerability or simply another case of weak passwords.

I also do agree with your Quality comment. IPhone users commonly use this argument but it holds almost no water. Sure, the iPhone may win in a quality test against a $100 Accatel, ZTE or Keyocera Android phone however it does not stand a change against the Moto X, HTC One or any Sony Xperia devices. We even have the added benefit that several Sony and Samsung phones are water resistant if not full out waterproof. Sure they keep it open to developers. The more apps that are made the more customers they hope to get. All the developers that make quality/well made apps, are making ios apps. I have not seen any app thats on both operating systems be better on the android. Apple users typically from my experience have a higher net worth. Thats where the money is. Movie stars have a high net worth and they typically use an iPhone. Thats where I would try to hack aswell. You can put anything from Itunes on to any apple product. You are limited to where you can put things from the play store. Android might have sd but you cant barely put anything on it. Whats the point? 32gbs is not enough local storage for me and it never will be. I grew up with Apple II and Mac, as well as Kaypro II and 10, and the TI-99A (with the extended basic cartridge and tape recorder drive). I built my own gaming machines with water cooling back in the mid 2000s, with overlocking and SLi vid cards, ran Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows Vista and Windows 7. I am, by far, not married to Apple.

But I absolutely love my MacBook Pro and my iPhone and iPad. Frankly, people should use whatever the hell they want to use. It doesn’t matter one bit to me what somebody uses as long as it works for them (aside from IE – nobody should ever use IE). And as much as I love Apple products (and I truly do), I generally don’t go around posting entries about why I hate some other system.

EDIT: BTW, I’ve owned about 10 PCs, including laptops, over the last decade and a half, and excluding servers I’ve owned/run. I’ve run Red Hat, Suse, and Debian for the most part, not to mention Ubuntu, and I particularly liked KDE back in the mid 2000s, as well as various Windows mentioned above. I probably went ten full years between Apple products from around 1996 to 2006 without having a single product from Apple, and I was very happy with what I had. But I still prefer Apple overall. I just looked at him and laughed. I couldn’t resist to let him know that his iphone 6+ has a slightly smaller display than mine and the overall size of the phone is bigger than the Note 3.. +Gerard Guiterez -. In regards to Ownership… please answer this question “*Why does Apple restrict what you can and cannot install on an iPad or iPhone?*” It is like me selling you a car and saying that you cant have a person named Brian in the car with you.

Your statements about MicroUSB cables and Android Accessories being “cheap’ and low quality are complete horse sh!t. I have had over 2 dozen Android Devices and have never had one explode (I am an early adopter who used to do a lot of tech reviews).

Your statements about iOS being more secure then Android is also flawed. Please read my earlier response (search for “Walled Garden”). If anything iOS gives users a false sense of security. TouchID has been defeated due to flaws on the lockscreen and there are other serious issues. Android 4.4.4 is quite secure and 5.0 introduces a lot of new security features that make it stand out.  Really, the only people who believe Apple products are more secure is Apple’s marketing department. Apple has had a LONG history of exploits, hence how a jailbreak is done.

+Michael Murphy – You are somewhat correct, Blink is forked from WebKit but it is no longer WebKit. It would be the same as me calling the latest build of MacOS FreeBSD. Google is working on their own enhancements to WebKit.

So users are prevented from enjoying a great app just because apple doesn’t want them to have it.Yash Trivedi – 2014-10-19 03:49:01-0400 – Updated: 2014-10-19 03:52:18-0400If you hate android (Google) plz don’t use G+ or any of its other services Luke YouTube in the first place…

Ever heard of HTC one m7/m8 or the nexus interface … The best and the most smoothest among UI’s in android

Also Apple still doesn’t have a waterproof model … Or a curved screen

Apart from that features like Swype,Google Wallet and phones bigger than 5 inches were available from a long time on Android

Shunning Android for its UI is a completely outdated reason as they have really evolved to give the best of software
Also ios made not to report crashes to the user happening in the phone…
Whereas Android submits a report

Plus we don’t need to root for everything … Many things can be worked for free without touching the root

Apple is still a dual core cpu with 1 gb ram selling phones (unlocked ) till $600-$900

Leszek Dziędziewicki – 2014-10-19 03:50:32-0400+Vishok G compare Windows 1.0 in 1982 and Mac OS in 1984.
Some history : In 1975, Gates and Allen form a partnership called Microsoft.

The dawn of MS‑DOS
In June 1980, Gates and Allen hire Gates’ former Harvard classmate Steve Ballmer to help run the company. Microsoft focuses on a new operating system—the software that manages, or runs, the computer hardware and also serves to bridge the gap between the computer hardware and programs, such as a word processor. It’s the foundation on which computer programs can run. They name their new operating system “MS‑DOS.”

When the IBM PC running MS‑DOS ships in 1981, it introduces a whole new language to the general public. Typing “C:” and various cryptic commands gradually becomes part of daily work. People discover the backslash () key.

MS‑DOS is effective, but also proves difficult to understand for many people. There has to be a better way to build an operating system
1982 – Introduction of Windows 1.0

For comparison :

On January 24, 1984, Apple Computer Inc. (now Apple Inc.) introduced the Macintosh personal computer. The operating system of early Macintosh is named “System Software” or “System”, and its ensuing series was later renamed to Mac OSafter System 7.
Doesn’t look like Windows wouldn’t exist without Apple. Each time when somebody corrects Apple enthusiast they response is simple – ” you are Apple hater..”

you’ll wake up the mindless masses”””Joseba Mendivil – 2014-10-19 05:25:53-0400I didn’t through all the comments, but I think that not all the Apple products are hateful. In fact I’d say the only product from Apple that I hate is iOS, so I don’t like any device that uses it. But the computers are great, overpriced but great. OS X is really good, way better than Windows, but worse than Linux tho.

iOS is the real problem here. And not only for users as you don’t own the device and the UI is horrible and unintuitive but also for developers. They talk about the fragmentation on Android, but the first Android app I made was a game for 1.5 and it still works without any problem in 4.4. The same with every app I have made for Android and I know I won’t have to change a line of code for my apps to work on Android 5.0. The two apps that I made for iOS7 didn’t work in iOS8 out of the box. I had to change a few things so I could get location, notifications and some special SSL handling that I do back and also the alerts without title looked horrible in iOS8 so I had to change that too.

But not only I had to adapt the apps for working for iOS8, but the methods for it to work on iOS8 would make it crash on iOS7 without failing the build, so there is no way you’d know that unless you test it on an iOS7 device, which BTW, once you update to iOS8 you can’t downgrade, so I had to use the simulator to test that I worked, but the simulator doesn’t support push notifications, so I couldn’t test that bit…

I still don’t understand why so many people love iPhones, the OS is shit. I hate my iPhone, which by the way is a 4S running iOS8 and is damn slow even though I only use it for development. My Galaxy Nexus is running 4.4.4 and it works just like the first day.

About the security thing… both OS are the same, with their exploits and so, but it is true tho that iOS might be more secure because the user can’t do nothing, meanwhile in Android the user can do anything they want, and everyone knows that the less secure element of a system is the user.

People say it is easier to use, but many people don’t know how to use their iPhone, they don’t even know how to kill an app. The thing is that in iOS everything that is not basic is hidden, so the users don’t get scared.

Then comes the fragmentation. If you say that iOS is better because there is no fragmentation (which there is, and quite painful for the developers as I said before), then you are saying that you don’t mind to stick to one device, so you could say there is no fragmentation in Android either, as the Nexus devices get the update the first day and have updates during at least 2 years. With the difference that you can choose between not having fragmentation or a variety of devices with different sizes and shapes that could satisfy better you needs.Jaromír Šír – 2014-10-19 05:46:54-0400 – Updated: 2014-10-19 05:49:23-0400+Keith I Myers what I dislike about Apple (not their products, but the company – I actually love the default GUI of OS X) is that they are lying. One only needs to view any video from WWDC or the recent iPad/iMac announcement. The amount of “the only”, “the best” etc. is amazing. And yet in many cases those sentences simply lie.

Yes, their 5K All-in-one display is amazing (and costs the same (2500$ basic) with pc components inside for what Dell is planning to sell just their display), but no, 4K displays do not cost 3000$. Perhaps a year ago, but not now. One can get a crappy 4K for 500$ (admittedly not IPS) and IPS ones for say 1000$ (more or less depending on quality).

Same with the NFC and app walled garden. One should be able to install any application as they wish or we end in a sad future.

And here’s my experience.

I’ve used Android since Eclair (2.0). It was an “okay” experience but I didn’t like the overall OS. Then the iPhone 3G S came out so gave it a shot, and hell it was a great experience! I said to myself that I would never go back to Android ever again; I loved my iPhone to death. After several months, the limitations of the iPhone started to piss me off. Like when you connect it to your computer, does it really need iTunes in order to copy/paste files? Doesn’t have an option to delete multiple SMS threads, bluetooth file sharing can’t be done, and even downloading a simple file from the browser, you can’t do it. Basic tasks like that SHOULD BE mandatory for every smartphone.

I also tried Windows Phone (Lumia 800) because I said to myself that I won’t go back to Android, same situation from iOS, locked down (but less than iOS) and very terrible Marketplace.

Fast forward to 2014, I’m back to Android, I’m using the Nexus 5. And I must say, Android covered a lot of ground since Eclair. Loving how KitKat works on my Nexus 5, just waiting for Lollipop update to give my Nexus a brand new feel and experience.

Nope, it had to do with Apple not putting a limit to the password input tries. Nude photos aren’t the only possible candidate for such a leakage. Other personal data could have been affected. What you said are very true, and it is great that you can install apps from anywhere, and they can do much more, and apple restricts how the applications are made. However, I can tell you that by owning both android phone and an iPad, and also owning multiple android tablets before, the app quality of iOS is still MILES ahead, in terms of design, at least. It’s seriously mind blowing. If go on apple App store, and check out featured apps and list of popular apps, the apps looks SO nice, they are seriously beautiful. At least most of them. I check the featured apps and list of top apps on Google Play Store, and it’s still very disappointing. Sure there are more tablet apps than before, but the design, and the use of screen real estate just fails a lot of times. I’m thinking this is due to the long and narrow 16:10 aspect ratio, that the contents can’t be displayed very practically, except for some developers who figure out how to. Now that we have 4:3 Nexus 9, maybe it will get better. As much as I want to switch back to Android tablet because of the amazing customizations, icon packs, openness, etc, whenever I check out the app quality of Android, I just can’t switch, at least yet. I love the material design, and if many apps utilize the design language in the future, it will definitely improve the quality of Android apps.Pooka Mustard – 2014-10-19 14:33:46-0400+Shelton Lee I best most apps will jump on the Material design if you care about design. Others would love to write about it and others also understand the need. In this case, the OP clarifies why he doesn’t like Apple products. Either way, we are going nowhere with this.Nick Clarke – 2014-10-20 07:03:22-0400I agree with the points your made. I would also add that Apple have an almost childish approach to bugs where they will not even admit that they exist despite thousands of users complaining online.

Those are exactly the reasons that made me try android and it suits me much better.

In the end Apple are a very good hardware maker but only so-so at software and rather poor at online services. Try uploading your app build to the app store. Chances are it’ll never work the first time. Heck it’s so bad, they have a separate app for OSX called Application Loader for uploading to app store. Pooka Mustard – 2014-10-20 07:57:57-0400+Nick Clarke Apple won’t admit their faults even if you had pics of 133 bent iPhones out of the reported 9. Worse, their problems are always elaborately hidden by their fanbois, so they have an even better disguise to go under.

Nope, Apple’s things ain’t THAT simple. I was able to delve into Android easily. Windows Phone was just as easy to get into. iOS on the other hand… Oh god the troubles in finding the WiFi toggle. Or quitting the app without using the home button (no surprise entering Android with that idea is bad).

It is sub par. Android phones now are becoming statuses, look just as pretty and are easy to use. And cheaper.

A bigger screen for which I did not need my reading glasses just to use the phone was paramount. Now that IPhone has come out with a larger screen my eyes have gotten so bad that I have already resigned myself to the fact that my next phone will, in fact, be a phablet like The Note 4.  It seems that Apple phones are always just behind my consumer needs.  That said, I still LOVE and consistently use my IPod Classic.  For sturdiness-after-being-dropped it beats any phone hands down.  It also beats any phone for battery power.  At the gym, on the metro, plugged into my mobile speaker for a day at the park, my IPod Classic is my go-to device.Keith I Myers – 2014-10-20 20:26:46-0400+Dave Kali – I am working on a book deal as we speak :). It said it comes from untrusted third party app stores.

…although the majority of the blame (as ever) lies with dodgy third-party app stores particularly in Asia.

Sticking with the trusted app store also known as Google Play Store, along with other trusted app stores such as Amazon’s and Samsung’s won’t get you infected that easily. Consider yourself safe if you act like you’re in the Apple side and can only have apps from Google Play.Andrew L. – 2014-10-21 09:16:16-0400You’re buying a physical product made of memory and processors, you need to know why you’re paying $600 and not $150. And, if the company is not saying the real name or the real amount of memory, it’s easier to sell you a thing that doesn’t exist. Today Android screens, Nexus 5 for example, are better than iPhone ones. But they sell it as Retina and Retina HD. LaJuan Hughes – 2014-10-21 09:40:59-0400+Veer Obhan how long ago was that. And where did you download it from. Badong Tagalog – 2014-10-21 09:51:51-0400 – Updated: 2014-10-21 10:32:55-0400When you buy a phone ram and cpu doesn’t matter. What matters most is – “does it deliver”.. After all your expectation for a phone is the consistency of performance overtime not the specs. Thats what you paid for. The problem with most users, they focused on specs advertisements rather on real performance. Dual core cpu with 1g of ram just perform or even better than a quad core cpu with 2g of ram. The reality is clear yet we refuse to believe in it.

Advertisements on retina and whatever it is are “laymans” term to non-tech users. They sell phones to everybody and numbers are useless if users cant understand. Imagine you go to the store and you ask the sales lady if they sell “mangifera indica” (binomial name for mango). How would a sales lady understand you.Badong Tagalog – 2014-10-21 09:57:40-0400+Pooka Mustard did you understand “majority”? It means that minority is in the playstore..
