Also, I know they fitted Glass when you first picked it up, but how is fitting it yourself.. Pretty easy?Keith I Myers – 2013-09-26 11:10:22-0400Fitting myself is easy, I sent them back on Monday Night and got them about 40 minutes ago. Corey Miecielica – 2013-09-26 11:11:10-0400 – Updated: 2013-09-26 11:11:39-0400Oh damn.. That’s perty quick, that’s awesome. Jason Kruger – 2013-09-26 11:18:24-0400No way! Well, congrats on a quick ship first option…  My RMA ship first experiences have been twice as long.Keith I Myers – 2013-09-26 11:24:13-0400+Jason Kruger –  Well, my first replacement did take around 10 days. Most of that time was spent on the shipment of Glass back to Google (the return package is 5 day air). In my case, I cut out a few days by getting permission to overnight them at my expense.

So it did cost me ~$85.00 to expedite this with FedEx.

It is hard to be without my electronic brain for 1 day, yet alone several. I also am supposed to do a demo this week with a small group so I needed to get it done quickly or I would have had to reschedule the event. Jason Kruger – 2013-09-26 11:29:04-0400 – Updated: 2013-09-26 11:31:55-0400So, I got a guide to email me a next day shipping label the last time I did a swap. The “processing” part after they received it took over a week.  Basically defeated the purpose of me arranging for a next day shipping label.

edit-And the replacement had 2-3 fold more dead pixels in the display..Keith I Myers – 2013-09-26 12:25:12-0400OTA Upgrade is currently in progress, I wonder if it will upgrade to XE9 or does it have to do 5,6,7,8 and then 9. I will find out shortlyKaren Herman – 2013-09-26 12:28:20-0400Curious to find out how the updating worked, Keith. Wayne May – 2013-09-26 12:29:08-0400Mine went directly to 9.
Does your replacement look/feel refurbished?Keith I Myers – 2013-09-26 12:31:37-0400+Karen Herman – Directly to XE9. It just finished.

+Wayne May –  It does not look refurbished, feels as solid as the old one. I did notice that the USB port feels a bit more solid. Keith I Myers – 2013-09-26 12:35:28-0400+Carlton Dennis – I am on my second.

My first one’s backlight just stopped working and my last one tried to give me laser eye surgery. I think the first one may have been due to sweat but I have no idea what triggered the reaction on the 2nd.  Wayne May – 2013-09-26 12:36:15-0400+Carlton Dennis in Googles defense, we were told that these would be “rough around the edges”.  At least they are taking care of us!Keith I Myers – 2013-09-26 12:39:02-0400I completely agree with +Wayne May , they are not a complete product and Google is working to improve things before Glass hits the public market. We knew what we were getting ourselves into when we joined the explorer program.
