When people purchase a Samsung Chromebook for $250.00, they get 100 GB of Google Drive Storage for Free.
When people purchase a Chromebook Pixel for $1,500, they get 1 TB of Google Drive Storage for free.
When people purchase a +Project Glass for $1,500 + Travel ….. ahh screw it, you know what I am going to say next
Come on +Project Glass , it would be nice to get a little drive love 🙂Shared to the community Glass Explorers – Public+1’d by: Tim Boyd, Stephen Hall, Wilfredo Lassalle, Bobby Malone, Jeff Russell, Bryan Foster, Khurrum M Chaudhry, ZEB I, Felipe Imperio, Edgar Samuel, Sajid Ali, Johann Dirry, Robert Christensen, Harry Yoon, Jonathan Martin Brizio, Jason Kruger, Stephen Vujevich, Katy Kasmai, Ryanne Dolan, Chris Smith, Alex C, Brian Worhatch, Baaruce B., Eddie Daniels, Nik UrtibKeith I Myers – 2013-07-03 13:35:36-0400Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the Glass Pickup event and it was worth the price of admission. I am just a little butthurt because I cannot transfer the 100 GB of Google Drive storage I got for free with my Samsung Chromebook to my non-gApps Account. Keith I Myers – 2013-07-03 13:44:41-0400+Andy Kwan – I was not asking for 2 TB but 100 GB is more than plenty for most. I would not turn down 200 GB as well (Wishful thinking)Jobe Wright – 2013-07-03 14:08:54-0400I love the idea of chromebooks, but I’m a geek. Right now I work at walmart and we have acer chromebooks for 199, but people avoid them because “It ain’t got windows” and are too ignorant to listen to how it works. Keith I Myers – 2013-07-03 14:11:30-0400+Jobe Wright – Not to completely derail this thread. I am not sure why people feel a computer is not a computer unless it is running MacOS or Windows. It is sad that we have become so narrow minded over the years. Wayne May – 2013-07-03 14:21:48-0400I got 1TB with the Pixel, but it expires after two years! What a good way to suck somebody into paying for storage.Keith I Myers – 2013-07-03 14:28:31-0400+Wayne May – My mistake above.
I actually like Google Drive and would not mind continuing the subscription after it expires. Offsite backups rule!Daniel Fontaine – 2013-07-03 15:02:38-0400I wholeheartedly agree. I even mentioned it to Beau who was my Glass guide. I said that if they want us to be doing as much video, photos, etc as we possibly can be that they should give us even 50GB. I made the exact reference to the Pixel being like, ” if I bought that I’d get a TB, tell the big guys to give us Glass Explorers 50 or a 100 . ” He kind of shrugged the comment off but I thought is was worth mentioning. Jerome Donovan – 2013-07-03 15:02:45-0400I believe you don’t have to pay after the 2 years but you cannot add to it without paying for the extra storageMichael Evans – 2013-07-03 15:08:36-0400Just so you guys know, it’s 3 years, not 2.Christopher Santos – 2013-07-03 16:04:42-0400 – Updated: 2013-07-03 16:05:49-0400Doesn’t Glass’ camera resolution fall within the free limit for photos? Therefore I think you can safely say “With Glass you get unlimited photos!”
Though I do see where you’re headed.Michael Evans – 2013-07-03 16:06:44-0400 – Updated: 2013-07-03 16:06:58-0400+Christopher Santos Unless they are resized, I don’t think so. The free limit is for 2048×2048 ~ 4MP. Glass’ camera is 5MP.
I could be wrong though, they might be resized, etc.Christopher Santos – 2013-07-03 16:12:09-0400Yea, I wasn’t sure. Not worth the 5 or so clicks or button presses’s to find out. Though this comment is more effort I bet 😉Brian Keesbury – 2013-07-03 20:10:02-0400I’m just happy to have Glass. It isn’t just a new device, it’s an investment in the future of my memories.
