Quick Update to the Samsung DexTop

A few weeks ago, I posted a teaser to the Samsung DexTop and aside from a short YouTube video showing it in action, I have been pretty quiet. I wanted to provide a short update on the current status of the Samsung DexTop.

First, if you have not gotten a chance to see my YouTube video showing my initial prototype in action, take a look herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bq1e25NUsQ . The good news is that everything works, the bad news is that I dont really like the boxy and overly thick design.

With that said, I am working on a complete re-design to make it more modern looking. The new design will be about half the thickness and will be much easier to throw in a backpack for on the go use. Furthermore I am working to make the new design easily printable on inexpensive 3D printers rather then the $1,000+ printer I made the initial prototype on. The 3D printer I am targeting is the Monoprice Maker Select which is less than $350 so this is far more affordable – of course any printer with an equal or greater print area will work.
